According to Jon Paul Morosi of Fox Sports (via a source), the Twins will designate SP Jason Marquis for assignment. Marquis was signed as a free agent last off-season to a one-year, $3MM deal by interim GM Terry Ryan. Marquis has been dreadful his last two starts, giving up 13 runs and 5 HR in 6.2 innings of work against the Indians and Brewers.
